Shrimp Marsala

Shrimp Marsala has it all—savory aroma, the rich flavors of wine and mushrooms, and company-pretty looks. A baked potato and steamed asparagus go well with this dish.

Recipe information

  • Yield

serves 4, 1 cup per serving

Ingredients

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 pound raw colossal shrimp, peeled, rinsed and patted dry
1 tablespoon olive oil
5 ounces presliced fresh button mushrooms
1/2 cup marsala wine
Fresh parsley, snipped (optional)

Preparation

  1. Step 1

Sprinkle the flour over the shrimp, shaking off the excess.

    Step 2

In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat, swirling to coat the bottom. Cook the shrimp for 2 minutes. Turn over.

    Step 3

Stir in the mushrooms and marsala. Increase the heat to high and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened to a consistency almost like melted caramels, stirring occasionally. Sprinkle with the parsley.
