1 1/2 oz finely shredded Gruyère (1/2 cup)
3/4 stick (6 tablespoons) unsalted butter, softened
1 rounded tablespoon whole-grain mustard
4 cornichons (French sour gherkins), finely chopped
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
